With reference to Colonial Office letter No. 53548/37
of the 23rd October, on the subject of the attacks which
have appeared in the Japanese Press regarding the attitude
of Hong Kong in the matter of the transmission of munitions
from the Colony to China, I am directed by Mr. Secretary
Eden to state that he agrees with the Secretary of State
for the Colonies that no advantage is likely to be served
by any intervention on the part of His Majesty's Ambassador
in Tokyo.
